A) Collected Test Corrections
B) Discussed our statements on the 14 topics from class yesterday about what a liberal and what a conservative might believe.
C) Answered some questions about "Voting" in preparation for the November general election.
D) Reminder Blog Post is due by 3:03 today

Wednesday US Government 3/30

A) Passed back Constitution and Amendments test. Explained how to do test corrections. I will collect test corrections tomorrow at the start of class.
B) Completed our discussion of population demographics in the US and the "So What" of some of the trends we see with the US population.
C) Worked on writing some very conservative or liberal statements on topics. We will continue to look at what liberals and conservatives say on certain topics tomorrow.
D) Don't forget blog post is due by end of the day (3:03) tomorrow

Tuesday US Government 3/29

A) Quick review through discussion of demographics and ideology from yesterday's exit polls.
B) Continue to look at maps, charts and graphs of who we are as a nation and what effect politically do these facts, trends and changes have on our country.

NO Quiz before break on Political Ideology. We will schedule this quiz the first day after break for that first week after Spring Break.

A) Unit 2 test must be done by end of day Tuesday as I am passing back tests on Wednesday so students can do corrections.
B) Collected political spectrum from students gone Friday.
C) Discussed political socialization and US political culture.
D) Looked at data from exit polls and demographic maps to try and identify tendencies among liberals and conservatives and the significance of such data.

Political Ideology Assignment

Go ahead and take the GoToQuiz. At the end, you will get a description of who you are based on your answers to the questions. Post a comment based on what you found out about yourself. Be sure to comment on how these results compare with the results of the survey we took in class. Pay attention to how you responded to the question and the topic of the questions as this could only help when it comes time for us to take our Political Ideology quiz next week. This is an assignment and it must be completed before we take our ideology quiz in class.

US Government Tuesday 3/8

A) Collected any Article/Amendment assignments from Last Friday. These will be handed back tomorrow. Be sure you have yours done by the start of class or your opportunity to hand that exact assignment in won't be possible.
B) Reviewed the 7 Articles of the Constitution in prep for our quiz on Friday.
C) Quickly reviewed the 2 principles we discussed yesterday Separation of Powers and Checks and Balances.
D) Completed the remaining 4 Principles of the Constitution
Judicial Review, Federalism or Federal System (same thing), Limited Government, and Popular
Sovereignty.   In each case we defined the concept and then where applicable gave examples for each. You can find all of these principles in the text, on posters at the front of the room or pick up the notes from a classmate who attended today.

A) Thanked everyone for coming to class today!
B) Paraphrased the 6 goals of the Preamble to the Constitution.
C) Presented the main parts from each of the Articles and built an outline of the Constitution.  Below is what was presented so well be 5th hour so feel free to use.
D) Worked on assignment that is due Monday (worksheet) on Parts of the Constitution.

Reminders: Monday Test 1 will be passed back and corrections will be discussed
                   Monday we will hand in Friday's assignment and discuss what day we will have our Parts of the Constitution Quiz.
