  3. I think the map looks surprising because there is more democratic then republicans. Obama should win because he took military troops out of Iraq and he has given lots of speeches. and maybe because a lot of people voted for him and that is why the map looks surprising.

  4. I think that the map isn't too surprising to what we have learned already in class. The coastlines are both strong Democrats since they tend to be more liberal, while the states in the south are strong Republican since they tend to be more conservative. It seems that looking at the map right now, Obama would win the election. However, there are quite a few weak Democratic or Republican states and there are 86 electoral votes that are barely a Republican or barely a Democrat so it could still change by election time.

  5. Overall by looking at the map I think Obama has very good chance of winning the next election. Obama has the majority of votes in 29 out of the 50 states. The map goes along with what we have learned in class, the south is conservative and the coastlines and the north states are more liberal. Obama has 253 electoral votes right now and the strong republicans have only 125 electoral votes. There are 86 electoral votes between 6 states that are tied between the democrats and republicans and this could make a difference come election time. It is hard to tell who will win though because we do not know who the Republican candidate is yet and that could change citizens votes. Obama has the majority right now but politics can change fast.

  6. Nothing seems surprising to me but something that is interesting is that almost all of the republican states are connected. The south is very conservative like usual which was learned in class. There are six states that are neither democratic or republican which should be the key places of campaigning. So far Obama still has a plurality but there is no telling who will win

  7. The map pretty similar to the electoral map in class. The Northern States (Color Blue) tends to be liberal (Democrat), and the Southern States (Color Red) tends to be conservative (Republic). The electoral map this coming election will probably look like the last electoral map back in 2008.

  8. From what it looks like, Republicans dont have much of a chance to win. I think this because in order to win they'd have to sway a lot electoral votes in their favor, which in recent events (Rick Perry's word problems, michelle bachman whining, all the marital disloyalty) would be very hard because whenever I read the news it seems like the republican party is in chaos and in this article it said that instead of the democrats "squabbling like toddlers" and the republicans having a strong forerunner it is the other way around.

In conclusion, I think Obama will get his second term.

  9. The map looks a lot like the electoral map in the class room. The coast is almost all Democrats and the south is mostly Republicans. Since we don't have a Republican candidate, it looks like there is even less of a chance for the Republican party to win this election. Obama has 253 electoral votes right now and could potentially get over 100 more. Showing that Obama has a very good chance of winning.
I predict that Obama will win the election.

  10. It is not very surprising that most of the red states are in the south, and many of the blue states are in the north and by the coasts. This goes along with what we learned in class. I think its interesting that it tells how much the state is either democrat or republican, such as Minnesota being a "strong democrat" state, and Indiana being "barely democrat". I noticed that in North Carolina Obama got 50% of the popular votes and the republican party got 49%, so that must mean that the independent party got a whopping 1% of the popular vote! Also, Montana had 47% to Obama and 50% to the republican party, which leaves them with 3% to the independent party. Although it is tough to say if Obama or the mystery republican candidate will win the next election because many citizens are not happy with what he has done in office so far, so I wouldn't expect them to change their minds.

  11. What surprises me most about this map is that is shows the democrats already have 253 electoral votes. This surprises me bcause i thought obama would'nt have a chance to be re elected, but from this map it shows he has a good chance because if you get 270, you get the majority of the votes and you win. What also surprises me is that there is no republican canditate shown.. acording to this map.

  12. it does not really surprise me that it shows that Obama may win the presidential election next year. It does not really surprise me because even though he has not kept most of his promises really people are giving him another chance to make the economy better and keep his promise.Obama already has 253 electoral votes hes that much closer to being reelected but, the election can go either way.I will juost to see what happens.

  13. What drives me the most insane is the fact that Obama in my eyes will be the next president, and should be. I in many ways do not like his methods or promises he makes, but he would for surely make a better president than these canidates, who are uneducated and not prepared to manage our nation. The Republicans have always held onto southern states and probably always will, but today america is changing and more things are accepted than what they used to be, liberals are slowly overtaking the nation. I am unsure if this is a good or bad thing, all I know is I don't like the man but im pretty sure Obama will continue onto the next four years as president of the U.S.

  14. When i looked at the map i was not surprised to see that most of the republican states are in the south , and wasn't surprised to see that a lot of the democratic states are on the east and west coast and in the north . From what it looks like on the map , i predict that Obama will win the 2012 presidential election . He has a majority of the votes in over half of the states with 253 electoral votes . The strong republicans only have 125 electoral votes . Although Obama is winning in the electoral votes many people do not like the way he has run the country for the past 4 years so it could go either way depending on who the republican candidate is . I am excited to see how the election turns out .

  15. When I saw the map I notice that most upper east coast is Democratic and the south is Republican which I am not surprised about. I think Obama will be the 45th President of the United States because he accomplished some of the things he promised like bringing the troops out of Iraq. He has competition don't get me wrong he will have to bring he's "A" game because it wont be easy for Barack Obama.
