A recent poll conducted asked the question "Do you find (Republican candidate of choice) an acceptible candidate for President?" See what people in the US said. There were other questions asked. Feel free to peruse the poll results and comment.

Just by looking at the tables, the top two possible candidates to represent the republican party are Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney. Out of those two I think Newt Gingrich will represent the republican party for the 2012 presidential election.
